While in Florence, we stayed in a tiny rooftop house that opened out to this view of Florence Cathedral - ‘Santa Maria del Fiore’ It was breathtaking seeing the sun bouncing off the marble in the mornings with the bells ringing and at dusk with the starlings flying over. I sat and sketched details of the Cathedral from this rooftop and planned how I would translate it into lino.

This A2 lino print features a detailed section of the Cathedral with a collection of tiles across the bottom and up the left hand side that depict the vastness of this building amongst the skyline of Florence while others celebrate close up sections of the tiles and carvings.
